Coach Rev Moves Up!

Coach Revnell has made his mark at Collegium Charter School with his success as a basketball coach during his three years with the Middle School Girls' Basketball Team. He managed two undefeated seasons and finished his tenure with an overall record of 35-1. This past season, Coach Revnell worked closely with the Varsity Girls' Basketball Team. In addition to coaching the middle school squad, he devoted time to the varsity team as a scout, game film analyzer, and volunteer coach. Coach Revnell's continuous commitment and unyielding effort with the Collegium Girls' Basketball program has earned him the position as the Varsity Girls' Head Basketball Coach for the 2017-18 school year.

"I am very excited to announce that Coach Revnell will be named the girls' varsity head coach. He has done an excellent job with our girls at both the middle and high school levels. When Coach G informed me of his decision to move on, Coach Rev was the first person I thought of to continue the program's recent successes" said AD, Matt McCain.

The CCS varsity girls' basketball team is coming off its second straight TCISL title, a bid to the PIAA District I playoff tournament, and an overall record 41-7 during the past two seasons. These will be big shoes to fill for the newly named head coach.

"I have high expectations for this team. With no graduating seniors and our core returning next winter, it should make for a smooth transition. They have earned the right to play a much tougher schedule next year, and I'm looking to expand on those winning ways and want to push the team to shoot for their 1st trip to States" explain Coach Revnell.

Coach Rev spoke about focusing on the T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) approach. He is very happy with the foundation that has been set by Coach G with player development. Now he is looking to have them come together as a cohesive unit. Revnell has coached a lot of these girls during their middle school years which means relationships have already been formed. "I think the transition period will be very short with the hiring of Rev" said McCain.

The Cougars seem to be in the right place to continue their successes. Their 2017-18 schedule has been amped up to better prepare them for the rigors of PIAA post season play. Good luck, Coach Rev!
